Transforming Kenya’s Agriculture for Food Security and Prosperity

CAP-K will invest in irrigation, value addition, fair markets, and youth agri-business to turn Kenyan farming from survival into sustainable wealth.

Agriculture supports the majority of Kenyan households and contributes 22–25% of GDP, yet smallholder farmers continue to face low productivity, post-harvest losses, unstable markets, and climate shocks.

CAP-K’s Pillar Four: Agriculture offers a complete transformation plan:

  • Massive scaling of irrigation infrastructure to reach 1 million additional acres
  • Guaranteed minimum prices and direct market linkages for smallholders
  • Expansion of agro-processing zones to create jobs and add value locally
  • Special youth and women agri-enterprise funds with reduced nomination fees for SIGs (Special Interest Groups)
  • Climate-resilient seeds, extension services, and strategic food reserves

These measures are drawn directly from our Manifesto and are guided by the Party’s commitment to social welfare, economic prosperity, and environmental stewardship (Founding Principles, Ideology Document).

Through devolved Ward and Constituency structures, farmers will have direct input into local agricultural plans, ensuring policies are practical and owned by the people they serve.

SAUTI YA HAKI means justice for the farmer — the backbone of our nation.

When rural incomes rise and food security is guaranteed, the entire country prospers. CAP-K is ready to lead this agricultural revolution.
